摘要

The paper presents the results of corrosion behaviour of brass-118 in artificial seawater and the inhibitor effect of benzotriazole (BTA) by using a novel method called dynamic electrochemical spectroscopy (DEIS). During 10 hours, instantaneous impedance spectra have been recorded for brass-118 in artificial seawater without and with 0.0100 M, 0.0134 M, 0.0201 M and 0.0268 M BTA. This method allows the tracing of the dynamics of the corrosion and the inhibition process based on the evaluation of electrical parameters of the equivalent circuit. Other electrochemical techniques such as Tafel extrapolation (TP), Linear polarization resistance (LP), Harmonic analysis (HA) were also used in analysis of inhibitor effect of BTA. The inhibition efficiencies determined from Dc methods were compared with the DEIS method. It was concluded that a few hours are not enough for the determination of the inhibition efficiency. So, the usefulness of DEIS technique in the field of inhibitor research has been proved.
