摘要

The paper describes application of the subsurface GPR sensing in the area of "Kirilov" Church (Ukraine, Kiev) to determine the moisture and the structure of the underground soil layers under the church. Sensing was performed with the use of Stepped Frequency Continuous Wave (SFCW) signals with frequency band from 130 up to 270 MHz. The sensing results showing soil moisturizing level received using the signals' phase structure are shown in the paper. Based on these results conclusions about the reasons of church building deformations can be used when developing engineering activities to prevent these deformations.
