A series of technologies such as forced decarburization by oxygen blowing with top lance in the earlier stage of RH process, metallurgical powder injection for vacuum decarburization, were developed in the present study for the production of ultra-low-carbon IF steel with less than 10 ppm carbon content in the molten steel and it has obtained good effect at Baosteel Branch. The ultra-low-carbon IF steel meets the requirement of annealing technology at lower temperature. We should pay more attention to get stable control of the T[O]content for ultra-low-carbon IF steel.
