Axial Shortening Prediction Considering Restraint Forces

摘要

This paper proposes an approximate method of evaluating the effect of the restraint forces exertedby horizontal structural me members (beams and slabs) on differential movement of vertical structuralmbers members (walls and columns). The validity of the proposed method is proved by comparing thepredicted amount of axial shortening of reinforced concrete walls with corresponding measure measureddeformations during the construction of 39 39-story building.
