Pilot Study on Advanced Treatment of Wastewater from Pulp and Paper Industry

As a water consuming and polluting industry,pulp and paper making industry is facing more and more serious problems both in water shortage and environmental requirements.Therefore,economic and reliable advanced treatment technologies which would make the enterprise to achieve high water recirculation utilization rate and the local discharge standard are urgently needed by the pulp and paper making industry.A joint technology,including magnetic pre-treatment,gradient coagulation and biological active carbon treatment,was creatively used in advanced treatment of the effluents from pulp and paper making mill.Pilot experiment with a scale of 1000m3/d showed a satisfactory result.When the pollution indices of input water was 300mg/L of CODer and 200multiples of colority,the pollution indices of the treated water decreased to CODCr 60mg/L and 10 multiples of colority.The removal ratios of CODCr and colority are up to 80% and 95%.The operation cost is about 1.00 RMB/m3.The effluent's quality is proved to reach the pulp and paper making water requirements by field test.
