摘要

The elastic deformation of honeycomb cores under transverse shear displacementis investigated by the finite element method,and the result shows that the bendingdeformation of the cell walls is similar to that of the cantilever beam.In order toprecisely predict the equivalent transverse strength,not only shear deformation butalso bending deformation of cell walls should be considered.Therefore,in thepresent paper,the equivalent shear strength are predicted by application of thecantilever beam theory and thin plate shear buckling theory in conjunction withsimplifying assumption as to the displacement in the cores.It is concluded that thecontribution of bending deformation of cell walls to equivalent shear strength isobvious with the decreasing height of cell walls.
