A novel two-stage liquid desiccant dehumidification system using CaCI2 and LiCI solution separately is studied for increasing dehumidification performance and lower desiccant solution investment. Process air is pre-dehumidified by CaCl2 in the first stage dehumidifier, and further dehumidified in the second stage dehumidifier by LiCI. Large desiccant concentration variance is achieved in this system. Thermal COP and exergy efficiency is calculated for the proposed system compared with dehumidification system using cost effective liquid desiccant (CELD) proposed by Ertas.
