Research on Fatigue Life of Belt Conveyor Driver Drum in Coal Mine

Belt conveyor is one of the main transport equipment in coal mine, the driver drum is its key part. The life and intensity of driver drum plays an important role in the belt conveyor running with high safety and reliability. In this paper, the stress of driver drum is researched by the static intensity analysis with ANSYS, the value of the stress and strain on the driver drum surface has been gotten and the dangerous area is determined. With the FE-SAFE module, the fatigue life is simulated. At the same time, the probability and statistics method is used to estimate the fatigue life. Based on the weibull distribution and the parameter estimating with the least squares, the result obtained by mathematical statistics is almost consistent with that by simulation, and they both are close to actual value.
