It is more difficult to collect the fume produced in the process of aluminium electrolysis with the dev0opment of good-sizod aluminium electrolysis cell A new way to collect the fume must be developed to satisfy the advance of environmental standard. The traditional exhaust mode of the fume collection hood used on the aluminium electrolysis cell was reconstructed in this paper. Numerical simulation method was used to study the fume collection and exhausting status. The.velocity field, temperature field and pressure field in the fume collection hood can be simulated to direct the design oftbe fume collection hood. The reconstructed exhaust mode of the fume collection hood utilized the hot press successfully to improve the fume collection efficiency and make a uniform negative pressure in the hood.
