LESSONS LEARNT FROM AN INTEGRATED TECHNOLOGY-EXCHANGE PROJECT OF FIVE WATER RELATED DECISION SUPPORT MODELS BY THE COMMERCIAL IRRIGATION SECTOR IN SOUTH AFRICA
This paper discusses those lessons learnt from a technology-exchange projectfunded by the Water Research Commission of South Africa, which relate tothe integrated technology exchange of five computer models, all of whichcan aid water-related decision-making support to the commercial irrigationsector. The term ‘technology exchange’ is used to highlight the feedbackbetween researchers and commercial irrigators collaborating in the researchproject. Each of the models forming a part of the integrated technologyexchangeproject has been developed independently of others for differentpurposes and by different organizations with funding from the WaterResearch Commission (WRC).
