1. Vara de castilla mesh reinforcement provides to adobe houses high deformation capacity, suitable for this kind of structures which traditionally have shown brittle failures.2. Main weakness of adobe structures (low tensile strength) was solved with the inclusion of an internal bamboo mesh.3. The vertical reinforcement attached to the concrete beam on the top makes the walls behave as a full system instead the individual component behavior observed in the traditional system.4. The effectiveness of buttress, especially at the center of walls was proved during the test.
