@@Introduction There is little information on spatial variation of soil test phosphorus.This is now important because of the use of soil test phosphorus as a basis for national and EU policies such as the recently introduced Nitrate Directive ( Statutory Instrument 378 of 2006).Systematic soil sampling methods such as grid sampling have been proposed to better evaluate soil fertility (Wollenhaupt et al.,1994).
