Wastewater effluents contain significant amounts of pollutants.including natural and emuent organic matters(NOM and EfOM),toxic anions and micropollutants.For effective wastewater reclamation and water recovery,the treatment of these pollutants should be considered.In this work,two different NOM(the Suwannee river humic acid,US and Youngsan rivet NOM,Korea),and one EfOM from Damyang wastewater treatment plant,Korea,were selected to investigate the removal efficiencies of tight nanofdtration and ultrafiltration membranes with different properties.Nitrate,bromate and percMorate were also selected as target toxic anions due to their well known high toxicities.Tri-(2-chloroethyl)-pbosphate(TCEP),oxybenzone,and caffeine,due to their different Kow and pKa values,were selected as tested target micropollutants.For sustainable Wastewater reuse,constructed wetlands were also investigated with respect to organics,anions and micropollutants,with the results compared to those obtained with the tested membranes.A fair combination of a process using both an economic membrane and treatment wetlands could be proposed for sustainable wastewater reclamation with optimum control of contaminants.
