The first stage test on clean water aerating confirmed that mass transfer efficiency of oxygen transfer in aeration process was significantly enhanced through adding cellular standpipe filler into the gas-water two-phase system;and that the smaller diameter in a certain range of the filter was more effective.The follow-up sewage treatment experiment in sequencing batch operation further demonstrated that the biological treatment efficiency was improved,the processing time was shortened and the smaller diameter in a certain range of filler was more significantly efficient,by adding the cellular standpipe filler packed into aeration tank.The results revealed that packing small-diameter of cellular standpipe filler into aeration tank was practical for increasing oxygenation capacity,thereby for improving mass transfer efficiency as well as for saving energy.
