The Research of Intra-industry and Inter-industry FDI Technology Spillover to the Manufacturing Industry in Jiangsu Province

This article uses panel data of 2000-2006 years to analyze the intra-industry and inter-industry FDI technology spillover to domestic enterprises in jiangsu province. The results indicate that the FDI enterprises did not exert a "crowd-out" effect to, on the contrary, promoted the output growth through horizontal and backward linkage. As far as the total technology spillovers are concerned, the state-owned enterprises' are better than that of non-state-owned enterprises, and the non-state-owned enterprises are the most important body of absorbing technology spillover. The backward linkage spillover is more important way compared with horizontal spillover. The non-state-owned enterprises' spillover effect is better in sector of 10-45% which is proportion of the foreign enterprises' output to the total output in the same industry.
