Reedy International has successfully developed and implemented numerous patents for the production of low-density alkenyl aromatic foams. These unique additive packages will be reviewed. The process and application technology of using additive packages in the production of alkenyl aromatic foams using CO_2 and/or nitrogen or combinations of atmospheric and organic gases will be discussed. The reaction chemistries creating microcellular nucleation sites will be described. The improved plasticization and process improvements with the additive packages will be discussed. How to improve insulation properties of carbon dioxide foams will be discussed.
