Improvement of Innovation Capabilities for SMEs Based on Complex Network

Forming network organization becomes an effective way for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) to increase their innovation capabilities. How to form effective network is an important problem puzzling SMEs all over the world. In this paper, we analyze the efficiencies of SME innovation networks from complex network perspectives, including weak tie theory, structural hole theory, small-world network theory and scale-free network theory. It proposes the effective way for SMEs to improve their innovation capabilities respectively. Then it divides innovation networks into three levels: entrepreneur network, innovation cooperation network and network of network. It discusses their interaction relations in detail and points out that SMEs should make full use of the interactions to get more information and innovation capabilities.
