In this paper experiments were conducted to investigate the process of crack initiation and propagation in 91% tungsten alloys with three particle sizes of 1~3 μm, 10~15 μm and 30~40 μm. The initiation and propagating of cracks of tungsten alloys were investigated by SEM in-situ tensile test observation. On the basis of the experiments, a finite element model was established by ANSYS/LS-DYNA. The volume percent, the particle shape and the particle size of tungsten alloys were explored to investigate their effects on the mechanical properties of tungsten alloys. The stress-strain curve and the relationship between the micro-parameters and the mechanic properties of tungsten alloys were obtained.
