The number concentration of atmospheric aerosol particles was measured at the atmospheric gradient boundary monitoring site, in Tianjin, from May 17,2005 to May 23, 2005. The surface concentration and the volume concentration can be converted from the number concentration. Analysing their characteristics of distribution in different size ranges, means that the size distribution of aerosol number concentration shows a bimodal shape, the main peak locates at the 0.3μm size , the number of aerosol particles in the 0.25-0.6μm size range is 98.5% of the total, the distribution level of accumulation mode aerosol particles is in absolute advantage; the size distribution of aerosol surface concentration shows the trimodal characteristic of Chinese cities; the size distribution of aerosol volume concentration does not show clearly. Besides, the function expression of aerosol size distribution in Tianjin during early summer can be fitted in three intervals respectively with the model which is Junge spectrum plus Deirmendjian spectrum.
