The detail mapping of above ground biomass and leaf area index in the grassland is necessary to understand the carbon exchanges in spatially complex land. In this study, the field-based measurement of spectral reflectance, biomass, and LAI were conducted in the grassland in Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and evaluated the relationship between NDVI and above ground biomass, and NDVI and LAI. Based on the relationship derived from field measurements, we estimated the seasonality in LAI and above ground green biomass using Terra/ASTER and SPOT/HRV images.
