摘要

The Quaternary sandy aquifer of the Douala sedimentary basin generally showshomogeneous isotopic abundances ( 18O, 2H, 3H) of water sampled at different depths. Thelarge majority of these samples indicated a direct and fast infi ltration of precipitation,without signifi cant evaporation. This homogeneity can moreover be accentuated underthe pumping effects, connecting various levels of the multilayer aquifer. These resultsshow that pollution from the surface can quickly reach the deeper layers, and seems tocorroborate those obtained on the basis of fi eld measurements and chemical analyses.
