Advancement in internet technologies have changed the dimensions of global communication. Internet Protocol (IP), a part of the internet standard, has become a part of the telephony world as well. IP telephony allows for the integration of enterprise data and voice networks for increased efficiency and reduced cost. Traditional methods of respondent data collection, like mail and live interview calls, are becoming far too costly. By using IVR surveys (Interactive Voice Response Surveys), the data processing systems can be deployed quickly and easily. This paper provides a brief look at the CISCO IP IVR platform and creating IVR surveys by utilizing those tools. Cisco IP IVR is an IP-powered IVR solution that provides an open, extensible, and feature-rich foundation for the creation and delivery of IVR solutions via the internet. It automates the handling of calls by automatically interacting with users. Enabled by the Cisco AVVID (Architecture for Voice, Video and Integrated Data) architecture, the IVR product is constructed specifically to exploit the power of IP-based communications. Our approach extends the CISCO platform to leverage our enterprise telephony infrastructure to support this cost-efficient communication medium.
