ROUTE GUIDANCE USING SEAT VIBRATION FOR CAR-NAVIGATION SYSTEMS

摘要

This paper presents the route guidance method using seat vibration for car navigation systems. We have developed the route guidance system using the Intersection Close-up Map and the Voice Guidance. We propose an additional route guidance method using the seat vibration. The driver can get rough distance to the turning point and direction by the seat vibration without watching the display. Therefore, this system can reduce the total display watching time to check the route guidance. The driver can concentrate on surrounding traffic situation watching.
