Repeated cutting times and vibratory mode, which are two important cutting parameters of vibratory tapping,have great effects on the wear of the tapping tool in the process. Firstly, based on the experimental results, a relative expression between tapping torque and repeated cutting times is built by means of curve fitting. On a basis of the relative expression, this paper analyzes how the repeated cutting affects the tapping torque and the wear of taping tool in vibratory tapping and gives some advises on optimizing the repeated cutting times. Secondly, the process of vibratory tapping that adopt different vibratory modes has been analyzed theoretically and experimentally.The theoretical analysis shows good agreement with the experimental results obtained when tapping in the stainless steel.
