Feedrate Control of Continuous Trajectory in High-speed Machining

In high-speed machining, aiming at solving a series of problems including frequent start/stop of motor caused by complex part contour, low machining efficiency and poor machining quality, a feedrate control method of continuous trajectory was put forward. Constraint conditions and the solution of the method are discussed.Five typical transition processes are generalized. Through a mathematic model of the servo drive system with a lead screw drive, the dynamic characters of feedrate response in the connection process are quantified, and experiment results strongly guarantee the efficiency of the proposed feedrate control method, which precisely regulates the start point feedrate and end point feedrate of each segment,realizes smooth transition between adjacent segments, and enhances both the machining quality and efficiency. The control method is applied in the actual project currently.
