摘要

In this paper, submicronα-Feylon-12 microwave absorbingcomposite coatings were deposited by a Low TemperatureHigh Velocity Air Fuel (LTHVAF) spraying technique. Themicrostructure and the electromagnetic parameters of coatingsand powders were tested. The coatings are dense and have lowporosity. The microwave reflectivity coefficient of thecoatings was calculated with permeability and permittivity ofthe powders. It shows that there is a relationship between themass fraction of composite powders and microwaveabsorption ability of coatings. At the threshold value, thecomposite coatings can absorb microwave strongly. When thecoatings thickness increases, the minimal reflectivitycoefficient moves to the low microwave frequency. Thereexists an appropriate coatings thickness in order to optimizethe absorption of the microwave energy. The mass fractionand the thickness can affect the performance of compositeabsorber coatings.
