In this paper, time-domain uniform theory of diffraction (TD-UTD) method is applied to a typical office environment with a partition board. This method utilizes the principle of geometrical optics (GO) for direct and reflected rays and UTD for diffracted rays. Resolutions of reflected, multi-reflected and diffracted coefficients are introducedseparately in this paper.Based on the analysis of reflection and diffraction, a determineistic three-dimension (3-D) channel model of indoor UWB-IR system is built. The waveform through this channel is simulated. The bit error rate (BER) of the UWB-IR system in the typical office environment is calculated. And the relationship among the BER, communication data rate and signal noise ratio (SNR) is discussed. Finally the maximal communication data rate is evaluated.
