Using the method of artificial enrichment microbes to degrade persistent organic pollutants in the water sources not only improve the water quality greatly but also make up the shortage of traditional water supply technology. The purpose of the study was to describe the effect of the degradation on persistent organic pollutants by artificial enrichment microbe. Nitrobenzene and chlorobenzene were chosen for the experiment. The method was that nitrobenzene and chlorobenzene were degradated by artificial enrichment microbe under the condition of influence treatment efficiency such as hydraulic time (HRT) and pollutant concentrations of influent. When the hydraulic retention time (HRT) lasts 8 days, The result indicated that the removal rates of nitrobenzene and chlorobenzene were 100% and 98.4% respectively, with its former concentration of respective 2.19ug/L and 2.41 ug/L. The conclusion seems to suggest artificial enrichment microbe can highly degrade persistent organic pollutants.
