Modes for Controlling Peaks of City Natural Gas Consumption

The end-users of natural gas in China currently are predominantly urban residents and commercial users and hence this paper is focused on the research and study of hourly, daily, monthly (seasonal) peaks of city gas, peak-shaving means and controlling modes.The focus of controlling work in the new situation is how to effectively solve this problem both economically, reliably and safety using the existing facilities of our natural gas industry in its current development stage. The focuses of different gas companies may vary due to variation in their gas sources, pipe networks, scales of gas consumption as well as structure, features and rules of gas consumption. Based on the practice of peak-shaving of natural gas in Zhengzhou for the past 20 years, this paper details some specific measures and reflection upon them and hopefully it can provide some experiences for our counterparts.
