Briefing of the First LNG Project in China

摘要

Energy demand grows rapidly as a result of the economic development and industrialization in Guangdong, especially in Pearl River Delta. However, Guangdong is short of energy resource, and the environmental contamination brought by industrialization is calling for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). The proposal of Guangdong LNG Pilot Project Phase I was approved by the State Council in December 1999. Through efforts for over 3 years, the project FSR was approved by the National Development & Reform Committee in Oct. 2003, the project started construction apcordingly and now it is planning to start gas supply in June 2006.
