This proposed approach to reducing ourtransportation needs for petrochemical fuel would appearto be significantly simpler, could be accomplished sooner,and be much more cost effective than almost any otherapproach presently under consideration. Indeed, it isprobably the only technology that could be implementedfast enough to have a significant near-term impact on oilimports. Furthermore, it does not require changes indriver behavior or fuel delivery structure.
