Measurements of condensation heat transfer coefficient (CHTC) of R407C outside single horizontal tube (plain tube and enhanced tube) were conducted. The CHTC of R407C was compared with that of HCFC-22 at the same vapor temperature and heat flux range. It is found that for both the plain tube and enhanced tube, the value of CHTC of R407C is significantly less than that of HCFC-22. The CHTC of R407C outside horizontal tubes, both plain and enhanced, increases with the increase in heat flux. For R407C, the enhancement of condensation heat transfer by using the enhanced tube is less significant than that of HCFC-22. The heat transfer degradation of R407C is attributed to its zeotropic characteristics.
