Magnetic Field Generator with Inner Iron Core and Its Application

The space of an AC motor from which the rotor has been removed can generate a rotatingmagnetic field by the current passing through the stator windings. This machine is referred to asa magnetic field generator. Recently, the author devised a new cylindrical type generator withan inner iron core that was placed in the cylindrical space of the generator. The simpleequations for the winding constants and the magnetic field of the generator were derived using amethod that is based on an analysis of the electro-magnetism. The electric and magneticcharacteristics of the generator were calculated using the results of the analysis. The valuescalculated using the equations agree approximately with the experimental values. In addition,the newly designed cylindrical type generator with the inner iron core was compared with thecylindrical type generator without the inner iron core.The newly designed cylindrical type generator can be used in various machines or devicesthat use the energy of the magnetic field. In the present paper, the finishing characteristics of thenewly devised cylindrical type magnetic barrel finishing machine with an inner iron core aremeasured, and are confirmed to be better than the finishing characteristics of the barrel finishingmachine without the iron inner core.
