This paper is a continuation of two previous papers on uncertainty analysis1,2. The first paper presenteda simplified approach to the uncertainty analysis of a volume measurement based on an ultrasonic orturbine meter. The various components that contribute uncertainty were characterized based onmanufacturer’s specifications. The second paper illustrated the interpretation of calibration results forinclusion into the uncertainty analysis. The development incorporated considerable discussion of theimpact of systematic and random effects.This paper expands previously developed uncertainty analysis techniques from single to multiple meterbased volume measurements. The development includes the concept of correlation and illustrates theeffect on the overall measurement uncertainty. A statistical simulation technique is applied to implementthe uncertainty analysis.
