Based on the analytical study presented here, the following conclusions can be drawn: The analytical results of hysteresis characteristic by using fiber section analysis show a good agreement with the experimental results. This indicates that the analytical method can be used to predict accurately the maximum flexural strength of the EWECS column. 1.Sink and uplift, which occur in woody shell after R of 0.02 radian, considerably affect the analytical accuracy of axial deformation results for the EWECS column, while it has no effect on the hysteresis loops results.
