COMMISSIONING OF THE PUMP-TURBINE IN TIANHUANGPING PUMPED STORAGE POWER STATION

摘要

Tianhuangping pumped storage power station is the largest pumped storage power station in East China Power Grid. The first unit was put into operation in September 1998, and all the six units were put into operation by the end of 2000. This paper describes some problems happened in the commissioning of the pump-turbines. The main problems included no-load unstable operation in low head and joint load rejection of three units in one penstock. Through the commissioning, these problems have been solved, and the units can keep reliable and efficient operation at present. The commissioning and preliminary operation of Tianhuangping pumped storage power station supplies good experience for parameter selection and construction design of pump-turbine. Tianhuangping pumped storage power station plays an important role in East China Power Grid at present for peak and valley operation and emergency standby.
