The single-unit capacity and the size of the hydroturbine generator set of Three Gorges hydropower station rank first in Francis turbine sets in China, while the vibration of powerhouse has become one of the focal problems. According strictly to the projected dimension of Three Gorges powerhouse on its left bank, an actual three-dimension model of the complex powerhouse structure is made and the dynamic characteristics of the powerhouse are analyzed in the paper. At the same time, on the basis of the measured pulsating pressure data obtained from VGS hydroturbine model experimentation under the water head of 73 meters, dynamic responses of the powerhouse structure to the above pulsating load are solved, and the major vibration sources that vibrate the floor of the powerhouse are found out. As is shown in the results, under the water level of 139 meters, the responses of the powerhouse structure are within the permissive range, which is verified by tentative in-situ measurement.
