"Radar 2004" starts with an historicalsession devoted to the centennial of ChristianHülsmeyer's Telemobiloskop. The aim is both topay a tribute to the german "Radar father", and toclarify a story which keeps, after one hundredyears, some hint of mystery. Introducing thesession, this paper points out the questions whichwill be lightened by a team of radar experts andhistorians. They have carried out un updatedenquiry, unveiling many new or unappreciatedfacts, which throw a new light on the whole matter.
