Based on the characteristics of Baoshan Iron-steel Ltd.'s production and energy conversion systems, Baoshan Iron-steel Ltd. Energy Optimization Model has been set up accordingly. The model includes a material flow equation and an energy flow equation, which has been formulated according to different material flows and different kinds of energy in various working procedures. The equations have considered the adjustment and cushion effect of the energy conversion system, calculated the production material flow and energy generating capacity of energy conversion system in an optimized way, analyzed the energy-saving potential, and advanced relevant production schemes based on energy-saving schemes. The calculation results show that the influence of waste flow on energy-saving effect is greater than that of come-back flow. The enterprise' maximal energy-saving potential in reducing waste and come-back rates claims to be 584.2 thousand tec, which accounts for 7.9% of the total practical energy consumption. Adopting the optimized material flow structure and energy structure schemes can save up to 376.7 thousand tec.
