In this paper, we propose an extensive analysis of different co-located router network topologies within the same POP. This analysis in done in the context of the POP topological optimization problem in IP networks. This problem consists of selecting the number of routers and their type, selecting the interface card types and connecting the access and the backbone links to the ports. The goal is to find the minimum cost POP. Three topologies are analyzed: tree, ring and full-meshed topologies. For each of those topologies we propose a complexity analysis, feasibility conditions, and valid inequalities.
