Binary Corrosion Inhibitors Offer Improved Corrosion Control

An improvement has been made in anti-corrosion chemicalsfor oilfield use. A binary corrosion inhibitor has been patentedand field proven which combines an epoxy resin and an aminecuring agent. The proper application of this uniquecombination of chemicals forms a bond with the oxide filmpresent on downhole metal surfaces. The result is a corrosioninhibitor barrier that is more tenacious than conventional polarfilming amines, reducing application frequency and laborcosts, and even more importantly, downhole failures. Thebinary corrosion inhibitor is also an improvement over and ismore versatile than other epoxy-amine products.
