FLEXIBLE HIGH-DENSITY FIBER CIRCUITS MEETING UL AND TELCORDIA STANDARDS

A unique type of flexible optical circuit is presented, which can be used to address routing congestion issues in optical-cabling or interconnection applications. Circuit structures are introduced and fabrication processes are described. Environmental and mechanical tests on sample circuits are discussed. The results demonstrate that flexible optical circuits can meet stringent environmental requirements while maintaining their high performance. Flammability testing per UL standards has also been performed indicating a UL 94 V-0 rating.
