Presented paper address the problems of better management of resources (electrical energy, heat, water and other) when wastewater treatment is concerned. It intents to make one further step towards more cost-attractive environment protection activities. More precisely it focuses on centralised, semi-centralised and distributed wastewater treatment systems and attempts to provide a tool for decision making when a balance between on-site treatment and centralised treatment service is to be reached. The analysis considers benefits related to electrical energy saving, water and wastewater minimisation, and heat recovery. It is based on combination of Pinch principles application for heat, water and oxygen (Thermal Pinch, Water Pinch and Oxygen Pinch).
