A selective combinatorial approach is an effective tool to accelerate discovery of catalytic phenomena and new catalysts. Infrared thermography of catalysts arrays used in conjunction with a parallel microreactor reactor provided the appropriate testing for combinatorial catalysis. An inverted pyramidal approach based on existing knowledge for catalysts' selection and using simple and tested analytical techniques is demonstrated for the PROX CO reaction.
