摘要

This paper presents the experimental investigation of 15 reinforced concrete beams strengthened with CFRP laminates. All of the beams were collapsed in flexure and their failure modes can be divided in three kinds. It is shown that the ultimate capacity of the beams did not obviously affected by the loading history and due to the umbrella-shaped cracking at the level of reinforcing bars the CFRP sheets were peeled from concrete of the beam, and at failure state the ultimate stress of bonded CFRP sheets of the beam could not reach its tension strength. In order to fully utilize the material strength the medium strength CFRP sheets should be recommended.
