The paper presents the dynamic behavior of private Gory plant induction generators in co-generation with the Hydro-Quebec bulk system when disconnected and left on their local load network. The paper attempts to show that in the electric network co-generation, the induction generators models used, greatly influenced the self-excitation phenomenon prediction. Different induction generator models are proposed. Simulations of the terminal voltage, speed, active and reactive powers are obtained for each machine model and for few rates of self-excitation capacitive compensation.
