Selecting And Using Temperature Sensors

Temperature sensors can seem confusing with all of the different options that can be selected. By looking at the sensor as having two primary parts, a sensing circuit and "Plumbing" to protect and position the sensing element, the user has a little better opportunity to specify a sensor that will really meet their needs. When a sensor designer evaluates an application, they consider the same things that we have covered in the preceding pages. The difference is that the sensor designer generally has years of experience in sensor design to draw upon. In the end however, it is the user that must live with the sensor performance, and the more knowledgeable you are the better off you are.
