Joint IP/Optical Layer Restoration After A Router Failure

The Optical Layer can provide an IP client rapid, efficient restoration after a link failure; however its inability to protect against router failure erodes its attractiveness. Here, we propose a joint IP/Optical restoration mechanism addressing this problem.
