DECISION MODEL FOR STATE MONITORING

In state monitoring problems decision making is required to be able to achieve desired states. In this study a decision model for state monitoring has been developed. The model is theoretically defined and finally implemented in G2 expert system shell. A set of state variables with certain limitations has been defined. The state variables can be controlled to some extent by a smaller set of control variables. Decision making is needed to define the values of the control variables. The values are given by qualitative rules. The system includes uncertainties and therefore the system can be only partly controlled. The aim is to achieve as good control as possible within the existing limitations.
