A device that uses a hydrogel/enzyme feedback system to deliver drugs in a rhythmic manner has been investigated. Experimental evidence shows that the device is capable of delivering drugs in pulses. A lumped mathematical model of the system is presented here which reproduce qualitative aspects of the device behavior.
